The final part of the undercover sting; again goes off without a hitch, with a number of arrests including a retired teacher/professor. An organisation called Perverted Justice has also played a major role in this operation by luring in the would-be sex offenders, setting up profiles posing as young girls and actively taking part in the online chats that sometimes last up to a couple of months before the predator finally comes to meet.

Yet another day at the sting operation in Kentucky and more arrests, one guy made the silly mistake of attempting to escape and got tasered. Whether these guys have been arrested before for similar offences remains to be said but a 39 year old man coming to ‘hang out’ with a girl claiming to be 12 years old and home alone obviously has some deep seeded psychological problems.

Whether they are labourers, teachers or anything in between it seems there are plenty of takers when it comes to chatting young girls in an attempt to get them into bed. Some men seem to be driving up to and including 5 hours in the hope of meeting (and having sex with) underage girls. The one thing that seems standard across the board with all these guys: they regret it once they are caught.

Local and federal law enforcement agencies have been working together recently on sting operations in Kentucky in an attempt to catch online sexual predators playing their games. Dateline (USA, NBC) has been able to participate in some of these operations, and have interviewed some of the men being caught out. With seven cameras outside the house and five more inside these guys don’t have a chance of denying what they are trying to do.

As the vast majority of you will likely know, since the inception of the internet, sexual predators have had another ‘safer’ avenue in which they could prowl for victims. But thankfully, our law enforcement agencies as well as various not-for-profit organisations have been as on top of things as they can, running undercover stings to the best of their abilities (such as those run by Perverted Justice in conjunction with NBC’s Dateline and local law enforcement agencies).
